Here at Hog Roast Narborough we have been involved in our fair share of community events over the years and we always love helping to bring people together with our sociable cooking style and fabulous fresh ingredients. This week we were asked to cater for the opening of a community arts hubs, once a derelict building, the local creative community have brought it back to life and transformed it into a contemporary space for showcasing the best local creative talent in the area, through a range of permanent and temporary art exhibitions, poetry readings and various musical performances.
We jumped at the chance to see what they had done with the place and couldn’t wait to get our sleeves rolled up and whip up some of our fabulous slow-roasted meat with all the trimmings for the launch party.
The Creative Director Karen decided to go for one of our equally delicious slow-roasted alternatives to pork-locally sourced free range chicken with chipolatas, stuffing and onion gravy, served with seasonal veggies and buttery new potatoes, along with tangy feta skewers for the vegetarian option.
She wanted elegant and beautifully presented food, in keeping with the visual aesthetic of their new creative space, but as it was a community event, she also wanted it to be served in a sociable, laid-back style, rather than having a formal sit-down meal.
The Hog Roast Narborough team always pride ourselves on our attention to detail when it comes to the style of service our clients require and we set about providing a vibrant and appealing buffet, which looked as good as it tasted!
The arts hub opening day brought most of the people from the local community along, all just as curious as us to see how the dilapidated building had been transformed into an inspiring and artistic enterprise. Needless to say, everyone was very impressed and we’re sure their new creative venture will go from strength to strength!
Karen couldn’t have been happier with the turnout or with the food and service Hog Roast Narborough provided and she told us she will definitely be calling upon us to do the catering again for the art hub’s next soiree!
