For big weddings, trust the best – Hog Roast Birstall!

Here at Hog Roast Birstall, we know all about catering for big weddings as over the years we’ve catered for all kinds of elaborate parties and extravagant celebrations. This was music to the ears of our most recent clients, Jean and Mike, who in their old age had decided to remarry, and had two huge families cater for! With both bride and groom being in their sixties and the heads of their respective families, there were well over two hundred guests expected to attend, with some arriving late on for the evening reception.

The wedding was an all-day affair, and so there was an enormous amount of food to prepare. There were one hundred guests invited to the twelve o’clock service, and the chefs had to ensure there were Bacon and Sausage sandwiches available for when they arrived at eleven, as well as get the hog roasting for the afternoon meal. The team from Hog Roast Birstall were on site at eight in the morning to ensure this was done, as well as setting up the dining area and reception areas, by arranging displays, lighting candles and laying cutlery.

After the service was finished, guests were moved through to the dining area, where the Hog Roast was served to the table, accompanied by a seasonal vegetable medley and the roasted new potatoes, served with our homemade onion gravy. An option of a Whole Roast Salmon was also available for vegetarians. For desserts, a choice between the exquisite Vacherins of Strawberries and Passionfruit Cream or our Handmade Individual Cheesecakes, with a light fluffy cream cheese filling served on a crumbly biscuit base.

As dinner drew to a close, guests moved through to the reception area where they drank and danced. Another one hundred guests would soon arrive to join them, and our staff would be on hand to serve the wonderful selection of canapes that included our Mini Homemade Beef-Burgers and the Creamy Feta Skewers as a late night snack. The team from Hog Roast Birstall were on hand until the very end, to make sure the happy couple were well taken care of, and tidied away everything discreetly, leaving them with no mess to clean.
