After opening their hugely successful Kings Reach bar and grill in Biggleswade, The Hertford Brewery team wanted to give something back to their community, and they soon came up with the lightning bolt idea of hosting a family fun day which doubled as a fundraising event for local superhero, Isabelle, who’s family are working hard to raise vital funds for her medical treatment. Taking charge of this very special day, Steve from the McMullens Accounts Department decided to get in touch with the Hog Roast Medbourne catering team who were more than happy to talk him through the variety of menu options we have on offer.
With 400 hungry mouths to feed at an event that was to be split into two separate services, the Hog Roast Medbourne crew recommended our classic hog roast menu which is renowned for being popular among even the fussiest of eaters – and when the big day finally arrived, our clients weren’t disappointed in our team’s service! Turning up at The Kings Reach in the early hours of the morning last Monday in preparation for the 12 pm serving time, the team quickly set up outside the bar before getting started on the first of two, whole slow-roasted pigs of the day.
By the time the first guests arrived in the early afternoon, the Hog Roast Medbourne team had laid out a copious amount of disposable crockery and rustled up a mouth-watering buffet of rosemary seasoned spring lamb, succulent turkey, locally sourced free-range chicken, handmade BBQ beef burgers, gourmet sausages, meaty marinated spare ribs and a yummy meat-free alternative of grilled vegetable skewers with optionable halloumi. Keen to try out the food from our signature menu, event-goers took advantage of the soft floured rolls and wraps which allowed them to experiment with different flavour combinations – and many returned to the gazebo for second helpings!
We’re pleased to announce that the day was a huge success and thanks to the scorching sunshine, guests were able to make the most of the live music, bouncy castle and face painting stalls that Steve had organised for the day. Before leaving, the Hog Roast Medbourne team cleared away the aftermath and left our business cards with interested guests
