The PTA can be an important part of any school, helping to bridge the gap between home and school. Since the role is often voluntary, it can be very rewarding to thank the group for their hard work during the school year. This could be done with a summer event, a great meal, or a nice gift. Before the May half term, Hog Roast Oadby was contacted by a school in Leicestershire to arrange catering for their PTA event. The event was taking place on the school grounds and included a variety of activities for the guests to enjoy, including a marquee, casino, DJ, bar, and an ice cream cart. For the catering, our manager Jon was hired to provide a delicious menu for 200 guests, including a tasty vegetarian option. Since this was a large event, the menu needed to be a versatile option, and something that has proven to be a popular choice in the past. After looking through our options, it was decided that our Classic Hog Roast menu was the ideal choice!
On the day of the event, Jon and the Hog Roast Oadby team arrived in advance of the 19:30 mealtime. The venue was busy even before the guests had arrived, with entertainers on hand to set up their stalls and activities. Our team got to work on the food preparation, beginning by making sure that the hog was slowly roasted to perfection. Once ready, it was expertly carved and served in fresh bread rolls or a gluten-free alternative. For vegetarian guests, we also served halloumi and vegetable skewers. We also served a selection of tasty side dishes, including fresh salad dishes, homemade chips, and sweet potato fries.
