Hog Roast Antsey has spent many years helping to make various special occasions perfect, and that’s by providing delicious, fresh, homemade food and ensuring that our service is second to none. We’ve catered everything from birthdays to weddings, christenings to retirements, corporate hospitality events to sporting functions and so much more, and whatever you have in mind, we can do you proud and wow your guests.
For a formal 30th birthday party that we catered recently, we were asked to cook a traditional hog roast centrepiece in order to make pigs in buns for the main course for 50 guests but we were also asked to provide additional and alternative options. Once the guests arrived at the party, we would be providing waiter-service, handing out glasses of bubbly as well as orange juice for those not drinking. Before enjoying the main course, the guests would be treated to a selection of handmade canapés, made by ourselves, and then afterwards, there would be two homemade desserts served. Additionally, we need to provide a vegetarian option, and for this party, our customer asked us to cook veggie skewers.
On the day of the milestone birthday, our Hog Roast Antsey team arrived several hours before we would be serving the food, as it takes a long time to roast a hog to absolute perfection. Our chef prepared the meat by scoring it, covering it in water and then smothering in plenty of salt, and then it was set cooking slowly and at a low temperature and all we needed to do was watch over it.
There would be five different canapés served at this party and our customer had asked us to make chicken satay, wild mushroom bouchees, gourmet sausages, mini pizzas, and dim sum – three of them being suitable for the vegetarian guests. We had also been asked to serve profiteroles and cheesecake for afters, both of which always go down very well with our customers and their guests.
Hog Roast Antsey warmed up the birthday girl and her guests on this chilly day with some very tasty, homemade fare, not least with our famous pigs in buns but also with lots of other lovely options too and it was all devoured with relish.
