This autumn, our Spitting Pig Leicestershire team had the pleasure of catering a wonderful family reunion, bringing together several generations under one cosy, festively decorated village hall roof. With the season’s crisp air outside and warm lights inside, the atmosphere was perfect for a comforting, seasonal feast, making our Festive Menu, the ideal choice.
As the family arrived, greeting relatives they hadn’t seen in months (and in some cases, years!), the rich aroma of slow roasting washed through the venue. Our chef was on hand carving the star of the menu: whole roasted turkeys, carved hot and tender, accompanied by tart, fresh cranberry sauce and more of our signature stuffing. Incredibly popular, with many guests returning to try a little of each.
We ensured the vegetarian and vegan guests felt just as spoilt, offering vibrant grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers (halloumi removed for the vegan option), paired with wraps, tzatziki, and sweet chilli sauce. Our vegan pulled jackfruit, served in a bun, and steeped in smoky hickory BBQ 
sauce, was another hit that even a few meat-eaters wanted to sample.
A generous selection of floured bread rolls and wraps, including wholemeal, and gluten-free rolls on request, completed the spread. All meals were served with napkins onto high-quality disposable plates, keeping the service smooth and stress-free for the hosts.
It was a joy to witness families reconnecting over warm plates of festive comfort food. Thank you to this lovely Leicestershire family for inviting us to be part of such a meaningful reunion.
