Christenings are wonderful and uplifting occasions which see family and friends united in celebration as the church gains a new congregant! And for parents of the child being christened, these exciting events are a landmark moment in their little one’s life, which provides the perfect excuse to plan an unforgettable party for friends and relatives to enjoy.
As one of the nation’s top-rated catering providers, Hog Roast Shepshed is often hired to serve our outstanding menus at these types of celebrations, and earlier this month, our team was called in to help Cassie and Ben with their daughter Rose’s Christening after-party.
The event was held in one of the church’s many event halls after the ceremony, which had been embellished top to bottom with lilac, powder pink and gold decorations. A balloon arch fitting the colour scheme had been arranged near the door, giving guests a perfect backdrop for photos, and the tables were decorated with flowers and confetti. At the back of the room, Hog Roast Shepshed had prepared a buffet of dishes from our Southern Slow Roast Menu for the guests to help themselves to.
The beautifully presented spread included BBQ pork butt, fall off the bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs, Cajun-spiced whole roast chickens and BBQ pulled jackfruit rolls with vegan coleslaw as the main course options, alongside sides of Memphis style crunchy coleslaw, a mixture of sweet potato and regular fries and all-American style classic mac and cheese. Accompanying the feast, Hog Roast Shepshed’s caterers had also laid out a row of smokey and spicy sauces, a basket of gluten-free and wholemeal rolls and wraps and a grazing table filled with sweeties, biscuits and pink cupcakes, which the clients had provided.
Everyone who attended was in awe of the menu that Hog Roast Shepshed presented them with and they were all in agreement that our team had done a bang-up job! Each item on the menu was fresh and flavourful, which further added to the incredible atmosphere on the day and made little Rose’s Christening all the more enjoyable for the friends and family who turned up to celebrate.
