Hog Roast Medbourne – Surprise 18th Birthday Party

Turning 18 is a special milestone for everyone, and hoping to mark his son Tom’s journey into adulthood with a monumental family gettogether, Rob got in touch with the Hog Roast Medbourne team to make arrangements for the surprise birthday bash which was set to take place at Leicester’s Kibworth Village Hall. After talking through our expansive menu options with experienced catering managers Ben and Beth, it was decided that combining a few of our famous side dishes and meat-free alternatives with our classic hog roast menu would be perfect for the approximately 80 guests that Rob had managed to secretly invite to the party.

Hog Roast Medbourne When the day of the special occasion finally arrived, Ben and Beth led the Hog Roast Medbourne team to the venue in the early afternoon where they prepared for the 8 pm serving time by setting tables and laying out a copious amount of eco-friendly wooden crockery and cutlery before getting started on the evening’s menu. With the whole pig sizzling away surrounded by savoury stuffing, the team turned their attention to the locally sourced free-range chickens, BBQ 100% beef handmade burgers, chicken kebabs and meaty marinated spare ribs which were to be served alongside platters of mixed salad, crunchy coleslaw and lightly floured gluten-free rolls. For vegetarians and vegans, the team also made sure to whip up a selection of our increasingly popular handmade grilled vegetable skewers with optionable haloumi.

Arriving guests were driven wild by the tantalising scents coming from the buffet table that Hog Roast Medbourne had spent the entire day working on and many couldn’t wait for the birthday boy to arrive so they could dig in! Fortunately, they didn’t have long to wait before Rob entered the hall with son Tom in tow who was overwhelmed by the lengths his family and friends had gone to in order to give him an unforgettable 18th birthday party. The event was a huge success and in-between enjoying the hired photo booth and traditional party games, guests filled their plates with helpings of the delicious grub before Tom was presented with not one, but two personalised birthday cakes which went down a treat.
