Melbourne’s latest Town Council initiative really brings the community together. They gather annually to bestow a Local Superstar Award to a very special, very active member of the community. There are always lots of nominees at these events and this year was no different.
The shortlisted 8 final nominees were invited to attend the award giving ceremony with one plus one invite each. The 16 guests and the councillor who would be presenting the award were lucky enough to have a delicious buffet put on for them by the supporters of the event.
The buffet that the Hog Roast Melbourne team produced was a delicious meal that had something for all of the guests. The Catering Manager arrived at the Town Hall several hours before the 7pm serving time so that everything could be set up. All of the dishes were made by hand by the Hog Roast Melbourne Catering Manager in the hours leading up to the event.
The menu for the buffet included tasty treats such as: a Classic Hog Roast, which is a slow spit roasted pig that is served with crispy crackling, homemade sage and onion stuffing and apple sauce. As well as this dish there was also soft gluten free bread rolls, grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers and exotic BBQ pulled jackfruit. Finishing off the delicious spread of food was Hog Roast Melbourne favourite: loaded fries, the crunchy on the outside but fluffy in the middle fries were served heavily loaded with melted cheese and chunks of the Classic Hog Roast, there was also a small platter of plain fries for those who would prefer it.
As part of the catering package that the clients paid for, the guests had the use of Hog Roast Melbourne formal, high quality crockery and cutlery for the event. These pieces of china and cutlery were later taken away by the Catering Manager at the end of the event to be washed and re-used. All rubbish from the buffet was disposed of by the team.
The night was a wonderful success and Melbourne now has a brand new Local Superstar!
