A lovely day was had by all last weekend with the tempting aroma of Hog Roast Mountsorrel’s slow-roasted pork intermingling with the sea breeze when we were asked to cater for a wedding reception on the coast! The couple wanted some stylish food befitting to their special day, but at the same time they didn’t want anything too formal, so they opted for one of our elegant, yet relaxed buffet style menus and a canape welcome reception courtesy of our own front of house of staff.
They chose a varied mixture of nibbles to please everyone’s diverse tastes, including spicy Thai chicken kebabs, mini quiches, wild mushroom bouchees and smoked salmon. They opted for one of our classic hog roasts served with crispy crackling and homemade apple sauce, as well as spit roasted sirloin of beef with horseradish sauce and rich red wine gravy, served with seasonal vegetables and buttery new potatoes. To top off a great meal, they decided on fresh fruit salad and lemon torte.
The Hog Roast Mountsorrel team spent a very pleasant morning cooking with a sea view as we worked hard preparing the couple’s wedding menu from scratch using the best ethically-reared meat and finest locally-sourced produce. By the time the happy wedding party arrived, we were ready to greet them with our stylish handcrafted canapes and a glass of bubbly!
With its stunning coastal views, the venue was the ideal choice for the wedding reception, with plenty of great photos being taken whilst we put the finishing touches to the rest of the meal. The elegant food served in a buffet style struck the perfect balance for the bride and groom, as everyone was free to mingle with each other rather than being fixed in one place all afternoon, whilst also enjoying a superior wedding buffet that had all been freshly prepared just before their arrival.
It was a great day for the happy couple and their family and friends, and the Hog Roast Mountsorrel team thoroughly enjoyed the part we played in making the day even better with our fab food!
