Saturday marked a truly special occasion as Hog Roast Leicester had the pleasure of celebrating not one, but two milestone birthdays. Gary and Rachel, a husband and wife turning 60 and 65 respectively, decided to combine their celebrations into one grand affair, inviting 150 guests to join in the festivities at their local bowling club.
The couple went the whole nine yards to ensure their joint birthday bash would be one to remember. The venue was transformed into a vibrant party space, adorned with colourful balloons and banners, setting the tone for a lively celebration. Adding to the festive atmosphere, an energetic DJ was enlisted to keep the music pumping all night long.
And, as we all know, no celebration would be complete without delicious food to fuel the festivities, and that’s where Hog Roast Leicester stepped in. Our dedicated catering manager, Byron, arrived early at the venue, ready to delight the guests with our Southern Slow Roast Menu.
Free-range chicken, succulent pork ribs, and tender pork butt, each marinated in our signature rubs, were prepared to perfection. For our vegan and vegetarian guests, Byron whipped up a scrumptious batch of BBQ-pulled jackfruit, served on gluten-free rolls with plant-based ‘slaw.
As guests arrived, they were greeted by the irresistible aroma of this delicious spread, which filled the air with mouth-watering scents that set stomachs rumbling. Gary and Rachel were delighted with the presentation and encouraged their guests to dig in. And dig in they did – plates were piled high with juicy meats and flavourful sides, as guests eagerly sampled the culinary delights on offer.
For those feeling adventurous, a selection of sauces, including smokey sweet BBQ glaze, hickory bourbon BBQ sauce, and fiery Cajun hot pepper sauce, added an extra kick to their meals. Mixed sweet potato and regular fries, creamy potato salad with a tangy twist from pickles, and indulgent mac and cheese rounded out the hearty spread, leaving everyone satisfied.
