Over the years, we at Hog Roast Loughborough have been asked to cater for all kinds of events, both big and small, and both indoor and outdoor, and so we are no stranger to a challenge. If you have an event that needs catering for then perhaps a Hog Roast may be the perfect addition. Take Jane for example. Jane is a teacher at a local primary school who’d been tasked with organising this year’s Sports Day. With over 120 students in each year group, Jane had a lot of mouths to feed during a hectic schedule of sports and games. Not only that, but her students can be fussy eaters and so she needed variety.
This is why Jane came to us at Hog Roast Loughborough. We met with Jane prior to the event to go through her exact requirements. She chose the southern slow roast menu as it has a choice of three meat options. This time it would be a choice between the Cajun spiced whole roast chicken, the creole pulled quarter of spiced lamb or the BBQ Pork Butt. All the mains were to be served with a selection of potato based sides and there was a vegetarian option of the Whole Roast Salmon. The food was to be served at lunch time, between the morning of athletics and the afternoon football tournament.
When the day arrived, the Hog Roast Loughborough team were on site nice an early to ensure the meat was ready for a lunch time service- arriving before most of the students! As the morning proceeded and the athletics was under way, our team were working hard to set up the dining area. Eventually twelve o’clock came and so did the hungry athletes, but fortunately the meats were all golden brown and ready to serve. Needless to say the students had worked up quite an appetite and most of them came back up for seconds!
After the students had eaten, and the team had cleared everything away, they were able to catch the final of the thrilling football tournament. It was the perfect way to end an extremely enjoyable day at the school. We hope we will get to cater for every sports day in the future!
