Earlier this year, Hog Roast Bednall was contacted to provide catering for an upcoming rugby match taking place in Leicestershire. The game was a charity event so the organisers wanted to gain as many spectators as possible, and providing catering is a great way to boost your turnout! The match was taking place on a pitch with a sports centre close by, so our team can set up indoors and prepare the catering in time for the end of the match. Whatever the result of the game may be, enjoying a great meal from Hog Roast Bednall is a great way to improve everyone’s mood! For the menu, our catering manager Byron had been hired to provide a classic hog roast, alongside a meat-free alternative. This is a great menu for warming up a crowd after a cold afternoon and always goes down well at large events.
On the day of the event, the Hog Roast Bednall team arrived at the venue with plenty of time to prepare for the 4:00pm mealtime. We began by slow-roasting the hog and ensuring that it was cooked to perfection, before it was expertly carved by our chef. For meat-free guests, we also provided veggie sausages to ensure that there was something for every guest to enjoy. The mains were served in fresh bread rolls, alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. This created a delicious and warming meal, with plenty to go around the players and spectators after the game!
